33+7=40

A New Volume

At the age of 33, my spine gave out, an event that felt like both a literal and symbolic breaking point in my life. As I reflected on this experience, I couldn’t ignore the mystical significance of the number 33. It seemed to weave its way through my story with profound meaning, connecting my personal transformation to a divine narrative.

The human spine, with its 33 vertebrae, serves as the pillar of our physical body, providing structure, strength, and balance. When mine gave out, it felt as though my foundation had crumbled. But what initially seemed like a catastrophe became an invitation to heal and rebuild, not just physically but spiritually and emotionally.

The number 33 has long been associated with divinity and transformation. Jesus Christ completed His earthly ministry and fulfilled His purpose at the age of 33. His life and death symbolize sacrifice, resurrection, and ultimate redemption—a journey of profound change that mirrors what I experienced during that pivotal year.

At 33, Spirit called me to serve. My healing journey began, and along with it came a new understanding of my purpose. I came to see that the challenges and pain I faced were not punishments but opportunities to grow closer to God and align more deeply with my mission. This was the year I shifted from living for myself to living in service to others, starting with my own healing.

The number 33 also carries deep spiritual connotations in numerology. It is considered a master number, representing compassion, guidance, and the ability to inspire others. It symbolizes the balance between the material and the spiritual, urging us to rise above mundane concerns and connect with higher truths. At 33, I experienced this elevation firsthand—a profound awakening that allowed me to see the interconnectedness of all things and my role within that divine web.

Looking back, I see how the breaking of my spine was a breaking open of my spirit. It was a call to surrender, to let go of old patterns and embrace a new way of being. Just as the spine supports the body, my connection to God became my new support system, allowing me to stand tall even in the face of adversity.

The journey of 33 taught me that life-altering experiences are often the gateways to our greatest growth. They challenge us to confront our limitations, trust in divine timing, and step into the fullness of who we are called to be. For me, 33 was not just a number—it was a revelation, a reminder of God’s presence in every moment, and a turning point that set me on the path to serve others through healing and faith.

Now, seven years later, I find myself stepping into yet another divine year: 40. The number 40 is rich with symbology, representing periods of trial, testing, and preparation. In Biblical history, the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years before reaching the Promised Land, and Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days before beginning His ministry. The number 40 often marks a time of transition, renewal, and spiritual awakening.

For me, turning 40 feels like stepping into a new chapter of my life, a fresh start akin to the eagle that chooses the painful process of transformation in order to renew itself and extend its vibrant life. Just as the eagle sheds its old feathers, beak, and talons to emerge stronger, I too am shedding the remnants of my past to embrace a future filled with purpose and vitality.

The number 7, another sacred and powerful number, weaves its way through this transition, marking its presence in the seven years since my breaking at 33. In Scripture, the number 7 is synonymous with completion, perfection, and divine fulfillment. It represents the fullness of God’s work and the divine order of creation. In the journey of life, the number 7 signals that something has come to its fullest expression, ready for the next level of growth and transformation. It is no coincidence that seven years have passed since my awakening at 33, each year a chapter in the unfolding of my divine story.

The number 7 is also associated with rest and restoration. In the creation story, God rested on the seventh day, marking the completion of His work. It reminds me that after periods of challenge and growth, there is an invitation to pause, reflect, and rest in the divine completion of what has been accomplished. As I step into my 40s, I feel a deep sense of completion around my past struggles and the lessons they have imparted, yet I also sense the invitation to rest in God’s divine plan for what is yet to come.

If 33 was the opening of the book of my life, 40 is the beginning of a new volume. It is a time to build upon the foundation laid during those transformative years and to soar higher, guided by the lessons and faith that have carried me this far. I am reminded that life’s most significant transitions often require us to trust the process, endure the challenges, and emerge renewed, ready to fulfill our divine calling.

As I move forward, I carry with me the wisdom of 33, the divine fulfillment of 7, and the promise of 40. Together, they remind me that every moment, every trial, and every transformation is part of a greater story—one written by the hand of God, filled with purpose, love, and infinite possibility.
