A Journey Beyond the Ego: How Ayahuasca Led Me Deeper Into My Walk With God

A Journey Beyond the Ego: How Ayahuasca Led Me Deeper Into My Walk With God
Ayahuasca was once something I thought could offer me the answers to life’s greatest questions. Little did I know, this powerful plant medicine would show me something far deeper than any experience or substance could offer. This blog reveals how my experience with Ayahuasca deepened my walk with God, helping me shed the layers of my ego, and step into a more profound relationship with the divine.

Deep Dive into the Journey Beyond the Ego: Embracing the Power of Surrender
In a world often driven by the need for control, the experience of Ayahuasca pushed me to face the ego’s illusions and surrender to something greater. While the plant medicine opened me to a deeper awareness, it was my relationship with God that anchored me. It wasn’t the Ayahuasca that transformed me—it was Jesus. His presence guided me through the experience, showing me that the true path of healing and connection lies in surrendering to God’s will, not to external forces.
Through the visions and deep introspection, I was able to see how my attachment to my ego had shaped my life, and how God was calling me to release those false constructs. This led me to understand the profound truth that, while experiences may open doors, it is God alone who has the power to heal, renew, and transform from within.

The Practical Power of Presence: Walking with God Through Every Experience
Psychedelics, like Ayahuasca, offer temporary glimpses into the unknown, but they do not compare to the sustaining power of walking with God every day. In this section, I share how my experience with Ayahuasca gave me the presence I needed to truly feel the Holy Spirit alive within me. While the journey was illuminating, it was my constant, grounded relationship with God that allowed me to make sense of it all.
When I realized that God’s presence had been with me through the entire experience, I understood something profound: it was the consistent, day-to-day surrender to His guidance that allowed me to grow. I didn’t need a fleeting high to feel alive or connected—I needed to cultivate an ongoing relationship with God. That daily surrender to His will is what brought me peace, healing, and a deeper sense of purpose.

Journaling Your Journey to a Deeper Walk with God
To help you deepen your walk with God and reflect on your own relationship with Him, I’ve included a few journal prompts. These are designed to help you gain clarity on where God is calling you to release your ego and embrace His purpose for your life. Use these questions as an invitation to reflect on how you might be holding onto external experiences or substances instead of finding fulfillment in God’s presence.

  • Where in your life do you feel called to release control and surrender to God’s plan?

  • What external experiences or substances have you used in the past to seek clarity or connection? How did they compare to the inner peace that comes from walking with God?

  • What does it look like to cultivate a deeper relationship with God in your everyday life? What steps can you take today to invite more of His presence into your daily walk?

  • How does it feel to know that God’s presence is always with you, guiding you through every challenge and triumph?

My journey with Ayahuasca was powerful, but it ultimately showed me what I had been seeking all along: a deeper relationship with God. Experiences, substances, and external highs may provide moments of clarity or insight, but they can never replace the eternal presence of a loving God. Only in Him can we find lasting peace, healing, and transformation. If you’re seeking true fulfillment, I encourage you to turn to God—He is waiting to walk with you through it all.
