Release. Relinquish. Receive.

Doing the work includes forgiving ourselves for the mistakes or missteps that we have made in our lives up until this point, so that we are able to move forward. That is no easy feat, and it takes so much courage. We must release what used to be, relinquish the idea of control, in order receive God’s plan.

I know how hard it can be sometimes to face yourself and admit that you are the reason why your life looks the way that it does. Confronting ourselves seems to be the hardest thing that we will ever do.

How hard is it for you to look at yourself and say you are the reason that my life is the way that it is?

Taking accountability for our lives is extremely hard which is why most people don’t do it. They would rather blame or point the finger somewhere else so that they can escape the responsibility of making vital changes in their own lives.

I was carrying around the energy of others. It was clogging up my emotional pipes so to speak. Nothing could flow in or out. There was no room for God’s love, guidance or grace.

All of the anger, guilt, shame, hate, self-loathing, all of it, had to go. I took the first step towards real transformation, and decided to release what wasn’t mine, and move through the stuff that was. No more baggage! Freedom!

Freedom meant responsibility, I wasn’t ready for that. God places a purpose in the space that is created when we surrender, and with that purpose comes great duty. But I was deathly afraid of it!

I had a fear of truly being free.

God told me to surrender it all lay it down in front of Him, and take on His yoke, because it light. I was connected to, I was yoked to, in bondage to, things that were temporary and fleeting, in fear of what it looked like if I put it all down and relinquished it for the eternal.

Had been given the beautiful opportunity to move with integrity. It has turned out to be one of the greatest gifts the divine has ever given me. I just had to be brave enough to scrape away all of the things that didn’t fit, so that I may receive all that was meant for me.

It turned out that the thing I wanted most was the thing I feared most. As paradoxical as it may sound it was my truth.

God really has an incredible sense of humor.
