Take Flight!
That’s right! You made it through the painful and difficult process of transformation, but the journey does not stop here. The best part about spiritual transformation are the gifts that we receive after going through such rigorous, intense, life altering experiences. These spiritual gifts, divinely given endowments that enable and equip us to serve God effectively and successfully, are necessary to make the journey ahead.
Let us view this from the butterfly’s point of view.
We always think about the butterfly’s transformation as being complete once it breaks free from the chrysalis, but we forget about the most important stage. Flight! The butterfly’s spiritual gifts are its beautiful strong wings. The whole reason the metamorphosis took place was so that the butterfly could get its wings mate, create, and migrate.
Monarch butterflies fly up to 2,500 miles from the US and Canada where they breed, all the way down to the forests in central Mexico where they hibernate. All of the strength and endurance it built in its wings from struggling to break out of the chrysalis, has equipped this tiny being to make one long trip, not just once, but twice in its life span. Thank goodness it did not reject or refuse its destiny. The survival of monarchs depends on it being able to trust that God will take it on a 5,000 mile journey to fulfill its purpose, all while being delightful to look at.
The seventh and final step in our spiritual journey is Serve your Higher Purpose. God has a plan for our lives, a reason for our creation. That long, intricate process was not done in vain. Your life is part of the divine plan. Once you have realized that purpose your higher self operates using the gifts that God has provided you with to impact the world. Now it’s time to use those wings.
What gifts did God give you through your transformation? What were the lessons learned? What is the great journey that lies ahead of you? What happens if you decide not to use your wings? What was the point of all of the pain you went through if you don’t enjoy the beauty that came from it?
Can you trust like that butterfly?
The answers to those questions and so much more lie in your intimate personal relationship to the one that created you. Only God can show you how to use those beautiful wings and empower you to fulfill your purpose. Now more than ever you are going to have to surrender and trust God.
The world depends on you to show up, just as monarchs depend on one another.
God knows the plan. You are in His guiding hand.
Take Flight!
