Grateful Dead
In order for there to be a birth there must be a death. We avoid the topic of death as if it is something to fear as oppose to rejoice. As the caterpillar breaks out of it pinhead sized egg, a death is taking place. The caterpillar is intuitively driven to destroy the place that it once called home. This destruction is the next phase in transformation, called spiritual death or breakdown.
In the life of a human if we refuse to break out of the egg, God will surely do it for us. Some trauma or breakdown of our eggshells (relationships and finances), has to transpire for the death to take place, so that we may find our way out. This death is the beginning of birth. Unlike the caterpillar we grieve the part of us that had to die. We get depressed because we can’t see the purpose for the destruction. We can easily get stuck here. Many do and don’t make it past the remorse of the loss, stay tiny, and eventually wither away.
Unfortunately, when we remain in grief we cannot set our eyes on reality, and see the blessing, which is the fact that we have just been reborn. This is a time to celebrate! Rejoice and be grateful. A time to find gratitude that we are no longer in a shell the size of a pinhead. This is a chance to become the being that God created us to be! How exciting is that?
Yes, it is going to be a long hard road. Yes, you have to take the risk of moving into the unknown, yes, you have to find your way, but you are protected and divinely guided. Don’t question it, just trust it. I use the analogy of the butterfly because the caterpillar doesn’t question why it left the egg, or why it has to give up all that it has ever known, it just trust that its a part of the process.
If you knew that you were on your way to what God has promised for you, you may be a little more grateful that you were no longer stuck inside of that tiny little egg of how your life used to be. Begin to see the endless possibility of what God has in store for you. The fact of the matter is that God never asks you to give up more than he has promised for you. You will never lose a dollar and get a penny back. You will never lose a love if a greater love is not in store for you. That is not how God works. God ALWAYS has something better in store for you. It is your responsibility to stay anchored in gratitude and appreciation so that you can experience what that is.
Realize that even if you do not know the reason for this death, it is worth celebrating. You may not feel or understand the purpose but there is something absolutely miraculous in the works.
This breakdown is for a breakthrough.
You have been reborn. Be grateful for the dead.
